I decided to rock the fishtail plait as I’d recently saw a photograph with Michelle Keegan wearing this style with a black jumpsuit and it looked amazing on her! It’s so easy to do and there are lots of tutorials on Youtube. It’s simple yet stylish and a little bit different!

Review – Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge: Image 01

Why did you buy this product?

I bought it because I heard some good reviews about it, I specifically heard “UglyFaceOfBeauty” talking about it in one of her videos and saying how much she loved it. I have been using the same makeup brush for so long and thought I would try a sponge for a change.

How much was it?

It cost around £4 from Boots.

What was the sponge quality and texture like?

The sponge feels amazing on your skin. It is so soft yet firm enough to apply foundation evenly to your face. It is a real treat to use on the skin. I don’t think it would rip or tear easily.

How well does it apply foundation?

Okay, I have to admit this sponge just doesn’t agree with my face. I use Mac Studio Fix foundation and it comes off so easily when I use this sponge! I realize that I might have to build my foundation more with a sponge, but even after I do this it still seems to come off my face so quickly. I would come home from college with a white chin and forehead, even after applying powders on top and primer underneath. It does make applying foundation quick and easy! It is so soft to the face and buffs in very well. There is an angled corner specifically for getting in areas around your eyes and nose which is really handy. It does apply foundation thinly, if you want to hide blemishes or freckles, you need to go over them areas a few times.

Do you think it is worth the money?

For £4 you can’t go wrong. I did expect a better product from this brand as it is very popular, but maybe sponges just aren’t for me.

Would you buy it again?

No. I won’t be buying this product again as it will probably last me a very long time anyway! It is always good to have a sponge handy though.

What is your overall opinion?

I think it is a good quality ‘build’ of a product. It is a good size, texture, and, you’ve got to love the bright orange colour! It’s very soft on the skin which is important, especially for people with sensitive skin. I am disappointed with how this sponge makes MY foundation look. For me, it leaves my face a bit patchy from the start, and it comes off my face very quickly, which is disappointing. I have went back to using my Mac foundation brush and I couldn’t believe the difference. My foundation has been staying on all day, doesn’t look as oily and doesn’t wear off anywhere NEAR as quickly. I think it MIGHT be suitable for someone with a tanned complexion who doesn’t need an awful lot of face coverage. I would give this product a 5/10.

Have you tried this product? If so, have you had similar problems :)? x

My style inspirations

I think these girls are bloody gorgeous, and they have fashion and class down to a tee. I love Michelle’s laid back, simple yet chic look. She can carry off any look whether it is floaty, tight fitting, or layered up. Her figure and height is obviously perfect which is a bonus for pulling off these looks!

I’ve only discovered Amy recently when she went into ‘I’m a Celebrity get me out of here.’ She is the meaning of class. Tall, slender, and her style reminds me of Marilyn Monroe! I think her ‘posh’ accent makes her seem that little bit more classy! I’ve noticed she wears quite a lot of deep pinks and can rock that colour so well, not many people can get away with this fashion statement.

‘TOWIE’ is my favourite reality show and I can’t miss an episode. I have to admit that it’s partly down to Lucy being in it as I just love to see what she is wearing and her makeup/hair looks! Yes, I am that sad. She has sadly left ‘TOWIE’ now so I won’t be able to do this anymore 😦 She can rock any look whether it be from her earlier days when she was younger, which involved a lot of bandage dresses and big, long hair, right up to now as she has matured and wears more elegant, lacey, floaty numbers. Her short, bouncy hair is so complimenting with her face and she is definitely a style inspiration!

Beauty products I want to try this year

Urban Decay makeup setting spray

I discovered this product while reading another beauty bloggers review on it. It caught my attention because I am sick of my makeup becoming oily and slippery during the day! I don’t want to be re-applying my powder too much as it might cake the face up. This seems like a really good alternative! I can’t remember who it was reviewed this product (sorry!) but they gave it a positive one. I would love to give it a try!

Ben NYE Banana Luxury Powder

I discovered this product through another lovely bblogger called ‘KaleighCouture,” as she put a picture of it on Instagram and said that Kim Kardashian actually uses this product! That instantly caught my attention as her foundation and powder always looks flawless. I am waiting to see Kaleigh’s review on it, but it is something I would love to try for myself.

Urban Decay ‘Easy Baked’ eyeshadow

This shadow has been floating around the atmosphere for a while now, I keep seeing it popping up everywhere, this is why I have got to the stage that I need to try it for myself! The colour of it is a very pigmented glitter, gold. It can make a dramatic look on the eye or you can apply a little just to add some shimmer! I wish I had this one for over Christmas as it would have been great for that party season!

Mac ‘Russian Red’ lipstick

Another item that has been flooding the blogging and Youtube atmosphere is the Russian Red lipstick by Mac. It gives a deep, classic red look to the lips and I have been searching the drug stores for one similar to this but I am having no luck! I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and buy the almighty Russian Red! Is it worth the hype?

Dior Waterproof mascara

Okay, I am starting to realize that I’m easily influenced, but to be influenced by Nicole Scherzinger surely can’t be a bad thing! She is my ultimate celebrity girl crush! She has this mascara in her beauty bag apparently, and her eyelashes look flawless, long, wide eyed and beautiful! I would love to try this, but don’t know if it is worth the Dior price tag, has anyone tried it?

Thanks for reading, lots of love x
