Review – Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge: Image 01

Why did you buy this product?

I bought it because I heard some good reviews about it, I specifically heard “UglyFaceOfBeauty” talking about it in one of her videos and saying how much she loved it. I have been using the same makeup brush for so long and thought I would try a sponge for a change.

How much was it?

It cost around £4 from Boots.

What was the sponge quality and texture like?

The sponge feels amazing on your skin. It is so soft yet firm enough to apply foundation evenly to your face. It is a real treat to use on the skin. I don’t think it would rip or tear easily.

How well does it apply foundation?

Okay, I have to admit this sponge just doesn’t agree with my face. I use Mac Studio Fix foundation and it comes off so easily when I use this sponge! I realize that I might have to build my foundation more with a sponge, but even after I do this it still seems to come off my face so quickly. I would come home from college with a white chin and forehead, even after applying powders on top and primer underneath. It does make applying foundation quick and easy! It is so soft to the face and buffs in very well. There is an angled corner specifically for getting in areas around your eyes and nose which is really handy. It does apply foundation thinly, if you want to hide blemishes or freckles, you need to go over them areas a few times.

Do you think it is worth the money?

For £4 you can’t go wrong. I did expect a better product from this brand as it is very popular, but maybe sponges just aren’t for me.

Would you buy it again?

No. I won’t be buying this product again as it will probably last me a very long time anyway! It is always good to have a sponge handy though.

What is your overall opinion?

I think it is a good quality ‘build’ of a product. It is a good size, texture, and, you’ve got to love the bright orange colour! It’s very soft on the skin which is important, especially for people with sensitive skin. I am disappointed with how this sponge makes MY foundation look. For me, it leaves my face a bit patchy from the start, and it comes off my face very quickly, which is disappointing. I have went back to using my Mac foundation brush and I couldn’t believe the difference. My foundation has been staying on all day, doesn’t look as oily and doesn’t wear off anywhere NEAR as quickly. I think it MIGHT be suitable for someone with a tanned complexion who doesn’t need an awful lot of face coverage. I would give this product a 5/10.

Have you tried this product? If so, have you had similar problems :)? x

October wantlist <3

I’ve been dying to do this post and saying as it is the start of October i’ll start now, no time better than the present eh? There are so many things I’ve seen the past few weeks and have said “I want that.” I think it might have something to do with the fact my student loan came in… I think when you have money you think you want everything, just because you can. I’ve been quite good I have to say, and haven’t bought anything ridiculously expensive, more like spending it on silly things. I’ll learn one day maybe?!

ImageI spotted this necklace on Youtube sensation Mel Rose, other wise known as “Makeup by Mel.” If you haven’t checked out her channel, make sure you do! You won’t regret it. She always seems to wear the most amazing necklaces, like, ones I want so badly, but can’t find in the stores. It turns out this necklace is from “Baublebar,” I had a look on their website and their items are to die for, they aren’t ridiculously expensive either. I actually couldn’t find this particular necklace unfortunately, if anyone else can find it please let me know :).

ASOS £15.00

These plate belts have been very popular recently, I’ve seen them on lots of celebrities and style mags, I think it would be gorgeous with some high waisted jeans or a skirt. I think it makes an outfit look that little bit more impressive.

Beauty Products

ImageI heard a number of reviews on this product saying it is worth the buy, and I have to admit I hate putting moisturiser on, so this seems like a great way to make the process a lot quicker and easier! Apparently the smell of the aloe-fresh one is amazing. I had a look for it in my local Superdrug and Boots store but couldn’t find it, so I might have to order it off the Boots website! Anyone tried this before?

Boots Online £4.99

ImageI think it’s about time I purchased a nail strengthener, my nails are always chipping, breaking and flaking. I tried gel nails before and they work great but I don’t want to be spending that much money every couple of weeks. If anyone knows a better nail strengthener than this one please let me know! Or if anyone has tried this one let me know what you think of it!

Boots £4.89

Image  I really want my hair to grow, full stop. It honestly grows so slowly, I wonder if it is growing at all! I do bleach my hair and use heat on it quite a lot, but I am just getting to the stage where I’m sick of having to clip extensions in all the time. There are some great reviews about these products and to be honest, I’ll give anything a go. Does anyone else have any recommendations on hair growth products?

This top is very me, flower print, peplum, girly, floaty, and can be teamed with leggings, tights or jeans, dressed up or down! I really love the colours in it too. It is quite expensive, so it might not get passed the want list.

I love Missguided for going out dresses. They have so many different styles that I find hard to buy in shops. You can’t see it in the picture but this dress has spaghetti straps which is very in fashion now, I think they look gorgeous, and this one is midi length which is fab. I want it so badly! It comes in a range of other colours including, green, blue and red. My only question would be, what bra would be suitable for it?

I spotted these brown, buckled boots in Barratts in my local shopping centre sitting in the front window, and I literally fell in love. They are so gorgeous for autumn! To my dismay there was no size 4, I could of cried 😦 I think a purchase online might be on the cards…

Barratts £40.00
