2013 favourites

So, it is very nearly 2014, am I the only one who thinks that sounds scary? Where on earth has this year went to anyway? Time seems to be flying, but I suppose they say it does fly when you’re having fun! In this post I will be writing about my favourite products and trends of 2013. I could do this post for a lot of things but I thought beauty and fashion would be the most interesting ones to read! Stay tuned to find out my favourites from this year guys!

ImageSleek eyebrow palette in ‘light’

I have tried a number of different eyebrow palettes such as the famous HD Brows, Benefit Browzings and then the Sleek eyebrow palette. I purchased the HD Brows palette in the shade ‘foxy’ and it crumbled into tiny pieces after a few weeks. I thought it was a very pigmented palette and you could not make many mistakes or you’d end up with dark, scary brows! I have repurchased the Sleek palette a number of times and I honestly can’t fault it. I have tried the medium and the light shade. I currently have the light shade and it looks very natural and gives a high definition effect at the same time. The price is a lot more reasonable compared to the HD Brows palette as well. It comes with a pair of tweezers, an angled brush and a flat brush, a wax and a powder. Over all I think the statement eyebrow look is very much IN this year! Everyone has the bold, perfectly defined eyebrows going on, and I think we have never looked better ladies!

Thierry Mugler ‘Womanity’

I have tried a lot of different perfumes over the years and I have found it difficult to find one that lingers on me all day, they all usually wear off too quickly, but this one is different. The smell is beautiful and it lasts on your skin and clothes all day and longer! I did a review about this perfume early in the year which you can check out here. This has been my signature scent for 2013 and i very much intend to carry it on into 2014!

 The ‘midi’ dress

I for one have been loving the midi dress trend this year! I have to admit when I seen Michelle Keegan in this photograph it made me want to get one. This one she is wearing is from Topshop but it is out of season now! I think they are stylish, feminine, classy and modern! They hug your body beautifully and only show minimum skin. This is the perfect style of dress for a night out where you want to look classy but stylish at the same time. These styles of dresses can be bought everywhere now a days!

The middle parting

This year the middle parting has hit back with a vengeance. So many celebrities are rocking it which has encouraged a lot more ladies to make the change! I used to think I looked ridiculous with a middle parting, but once you master how to make it sit and get the right position for your face it can make you look a lot more grown up than a side fringe for example! I adore this style and it is also great for me as my side fringe has grown out so much and I don’t want to get it cut again! Middle partings rock!

MAC Up the Amp Lipstick

Purple toned lipsticks

I have seen this colour SO much this year and I am a big fan of it. At first it scared me a little, but once I tried it, I was in love! There are a lot of different tones of purple lipsticks, some are very dark and vampy, some are more violet toned and some are a mix of both. I think that it is a total fashion statement, when you put it on it can make a whole outfit look ten times better. I will definitely be rocking this colour more through the winter!

That is my list of my main favourites of 2013! I hope you have all enjoyed reading this post! Feel free to do a post like this 🙂 lots of lovin, Lyndsy x

October memories

October is a fabulous month for me, mainly because it’s my birthday ;)! I turned 20 on the 23rd of October and I don’t feel a day over 16 most of the time! I really enjoyed this month for some different reasons; read on to find out more.

I’ve been back to college since September but I feel like its taken this long to really get back into the flow of things. A lot of my tutors have been off sick which has messed our timetables up but we now know where we are and what we have to do. I’ve been cracking on with my assignments and I feel really positive about it all, with, of course, a little angst of stress in there, but this is expected as I’m the type of person who wants to stay on top all of the time! I’ve gotten so close to my class mates now and I feel like I’ve finally let my gaurd down, I feel so empowered!

I’ve been at my job as a sales assistant now for a couple of years and I have literally only started to settle these past few months. I always felt like I wasn’t good enough, or quick enough, but they recently had to employ a lot of new staff and I’ve had to step up and take control. This was the best thing that could of happened for me as now I know I CAN do my work just as good as any of the other staff and I don’t have to let my anxiety control me. Sometimes being thrown in the deep end is a good thing.

I started blogging in August and, to be honest, I thought I would give up after one post but I’m so proud of myself for coming this far and giving it my all. I have watched my followers grow bit by bit and, although it has been slow, every single follower has took effort and I appreciate you all so much. I have met some lovely people through blogging as well and it’s a great way to share your passion with people who ‘get’ you. I recently was nominated for a Liebster award and I am honestly over the moon! I used to watched other bloggers writing posts about getting this award and I would be so envious! I can’t believe I’ve got this! It has just gave me more motivation to keep writing and building my dreams.

My birthday!

I mentioned at the start about my birthday, and it was more than I could of asked for! I got completely spoilt. My parents bought me a Peugot Sport 207 in white after we came to the agreement it would be my birthday AND Christmas present. I am in love with my car and am so greatful for it! Mum surprised me with some Topshop gift vouchers and money as well which got me a little emotional as I didn’t expect anything else, along with a massive chocolate birthday cake, yum! My boyfriend completely spoilt me as well; he brought me to stay for a weekend in Dublin at Dunboyne Castle hotel and spa and it was absolutely beautiful. He surprised me with a box of chocs and a bottle of prosecco on arrival, bless! We visited the Guinness Factory which was amazing, I would advice anyone to do it! You get a mini tasting pint and you also get to pull your own pint! Cheers to Arthur! We went shopping on a Sunday and I couldn’t believe how hectic it was, is Dublin always so busy?!

Overall I had an amazing month spent with the people I love and care about, I hope next month is as good, feeling very blessed 🙂 x
